September 10- Five Mile Chapel

This little chapel, called Five Mile Chapel,  is tucked in the woods and behind a creek off of Five Mile Road.  It caught my attention one day a while ago, and I finally went down to walk around and take some photos.  For some reason, I really love old stone churches like these- I just find them so interesting.   This chapel has been around since the mid-1800s and some graves in the cemetery pre-date the church.  It’s on the National Register of Historic Places.  It was a really neat little church- I would love to try to photograph it again sometime on a nice foggy/misty morning.
