The Queen City

Theme: City Lights

There she is- the Cincinnati skyline as seen from Newport, KY.  “The Queen City” is just one of Cincinnati’s many nicknames.  Another that I find funny is Porkopolis… more on that in a future post!  I will share another nickname on Sunday- hint: it’s a BIG weekend in Cincinnati this weekend… any guesses?

Would also like to note that just left of center, behind one of the bridge pilons, you can see the yellow lights of the Showboat Majestic, which I posted the other day.

Wasn’t entirely happy with the results I got with all the photos I took Friday night (it was very late).  Would like to try this again.  But I did have a few OK ones out of the bunch.  I am trying to figure out how to embed a slideshow onto my blog post, but so far no success.  In the meantime, you can click the link to the slideshow- there’s only 6 photos included, so it isn’t long!

Absolutely love the regal reflections of Queen City, which is Ironic as I live in Queens Land LOL

I was thinking that you might draw a connection there! I always think the same thing when you talk about Queensland. 😀

WOW, those bright lights are spectacular! What a fabulous take!!!

  3. Love that you skewed that beautiful skyline and those reflections are just awesome!
    The perfect night shot!

  4. how sparkley and crisp. I like the skewed angle too and that the colors are more intense in the reflections. Can’t wait for your take on ‘porkopolis’! I think the the ‘Queen City’ is used by quite a few places, oddly can’t think of a ‘King City’…
